 FAQ’s

  • Most insurance companies can provide reimbursement for services rendered “out of network” if you have out of network benefits. Free Range can provide you with a SuperBill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. There is no guarantee, however, that your insurance company will reimburse you for the services. It is the patient’s responsibility to inquire about their benefits with their insurance company and to provide payment in full, up front, at the time services are rendered.

  • No!

New Mexico is a Direct Access state, meaning the removal of the physician referral has been mandated by state law to access physical therapist services for evaluation and treatment. You can go see a physical therapist directly!

  • In a majority of cases, out of pocket costs for physical therapy at Free Range end up being LESS than what you would pay at a traditional insurance-based clinic because it takes fewer visits for a patient to improve (our average course of care is about 3-5 visits). Take a look at the math:

    Insurance-Based Clinic:

    1 evaluation (45-60 minutes) + 3 physical therapy visits (30-45 minutes) = 135-195 minutes.

    1 evaluation ($275-$300) + 3 physical therapy visits ($175-$225) = $800-$975 billed to insurance.

If your insurance plan has a deductible over $1,000, which means you will be fronting this bill until you've met your deductible. If this clinic uses techs or aides, then only a fraction of that money is going towards your time with your physical therapist. Most insurance-based clinics also require more follow-up visits for patients to progress towards their goals.

    Cash-Based Clinic:

    1 evaluation (60 minutes) + 3 physical therapy visits (3 x 30-60 minutes) = 150-240 minutes

    1 evaluation ($150) + 3 physical therapy visits (3 x $150) = $600 billed to patient upfront or paid in installments.

No copays, no deductibles, no out-of-pocket maxes to meet.

  • In this model, we are able to spend 1:1 quality time with our patients (no aides or techs) for the full duration of the appointment and have full autonomy over the care that we deem is the best to help them reach their treatment goals most effectively.

We can use any treatment modality or intervention we feel is indicated with our patients and it is all included in the cost of the visit (there are no extra hidden fees or a la cart charges).
